This year Lisou is celebrating the power of women. We have introduced a monthly feature that supports and brings together an outstanding group of notable women who are leveraging their influence and careers to initiate impact and create change.
Tell us about your career path thus far?
After a brief stint in PR, Browns and the Burstein family gave me an opportunity of learning the trade of buying. My big step up came with the incredible opportunity to launch THE OUTNET with Stephanie Phair and then eventually transition over to NET A PORTER. My last corporate role was as Buying and Merchandising Director of FARFETCH for almost 4 years.
Take us through your average day?
I start the day with a short stretch and mediation, a brisk walk to the office and then in and out of meetings around London. A yoga class or swim at the end of the day and usually a dinner with friends. I prefer to cook but I equally love eating out
What is your go to work look?
Generally a pair of jeans, shirt and cowboy boots
You collect cowboy boots, how did that come about?
As a teenager my best friend and I saved for our annual pair of boots from R Soles on Kings road - it became a kind of signature and as Im tall and hate heels, they worked well with every look. Many years later, I now have quite a collection
What is your life mantra?
You are exactly where you need to be. Keep calm and carry on and always be kind.
Tell us something surprising about yourself. What are you secretly good at outside of your job?
I love literature and have a secret wish to write a book one day. Im also a qualified yoga teacher which was more a journey for my own practise rather than a career path.
You clearly have a great eye, your home is beautiful. What was your inspiration?
Everything inspires me, my home is a medley of things I have bought over many years and anything that I am really drawn to. There is no theme, I just mix and match it all and hope it comes together. Almost everything has a story so maybe that’s the starting point
Out of your Lisou selects what’s your favourite item?
I love the oversized white shirt. Another thing I frequently buy are white shirts and t.shirts - I live in them!
Whose style do you most admire?
Anyone who has a sense of individuality and doesn’t try too hard
Finally what’s next?
I have joined a team of incredible peers and friends to launch an innovative fashion content and commerce platform through gamification. Watch this space!
With thanks to Candice!
